Q. Do I qualify for VAT exemption?
A. If you are purchasing a product on behalf of somebody who is registered as disabled or if you are purchasing on behalf of a charity you can qualify for VAT exmeption. Click here to download our VAT exemption form. Once completed you may send the form to us via email, fax or post see contact us for our details. Once we have registered you as a VAT exempt customer we will notify you by email and from from that point you will be able to purchase from our online store without having to pay VAT.
Q. Why do I need to ring before purchasing some items?
A. Some items we sell are technical items and therefore the suitability must be discussed with the health professional before purchase, therefore you must contact us prior to purchasing this type of product. If you ring to enquire about an item used for positioning/postural support we need to work in conjunction with the intended user's occupational therapist / healthcare professional ensure the suitability of a the product. Q. Can DEMAND advise me on equipment suitability?
A. No. DEMAND can only advise on technical matters, condition and operation. A healthcare professional is the only person that can advise on the suitability of an item.
Q. Can I pay buy cheque/postal order?
A. Yes. To pay by cheque/postal order simply proceed to checkout as normal at the end of which you will recieve an order number. Please send your cheque with the order number written on the back. For our details see contact us. Please note: Goods will be held for 7 days and only dispatched once payment is received.
Q. Can DEMAND ship products abroad?
A. Yes. If you wish to purchase an item for use in another country outside of the UK, simply call us on 01484 666261 to provide a quote for shipping.
Q. The item I have purchased is faulty, can I return it?
A. Yes. If you have a problem with a product that you have purchased simply give us a call on 01484 666261 to arrange a return.
Q. Are the batteries on used products guaranteed?
A. No. Whilst we always test that our products are in good working order before dispatch, we cannot guarantee the condition of batteries.
Q. Are the hoists that DEMAND sell LOLER tested?
A. No. Whilst all hoists are checked to ensure they are in good working order, the hoists we sell are not LOLER tested.
Q. What is the height/size of a particular item?
A. If the size and dimensions of an item is not included on the product listing, simply call us on 01484 666261 for help.
Q. How can I learn more about the condition of an item?
A. If you wish to know more detail about the condition of an item, simply call us on 01484 666261 or send an email and we can provide pictures and any additional information required.
Q. Are items cleaned before being dispatched?
A. Yes. All the products we sell are cleaned thoroughly using antibacterial cleaning products before being dispatched.
Q. How much does delivery cost?
A. The price of delivery is dependant on the size and weight of the item(s) that you have purchased. The price of delivery is displayed at the bottom of the 'My Basket' page and also shown in the 'Delivery Method' section of the checkout. If you require delivery outside of the UK, please contacts us on 01484 666261 to obtain a quote.
Q. How long does delivery take?
A. Delivery to mainland UK takes 3-5 working days. For orders to overseas, it may be longer, contact us to find out more.
Q. Do I need to be at home to accept a delivery?
A. If the item is something that requires paelltised delivery then yes, you must be at home to receive the delivery.
Q. Can I collect an item rather than having it delivered?
A. Yes. Please call to arrange if you wish to collect an item, our offices are open between the hours of 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday.
